About This Page

This page is the byproduct of what started as an amateur radio club that sought to bridge the gap between all the different aspects of the radio hobby.  The club came and went but the need to help those who are new to the radio hobby persisted.

The radio hobby is full of technical terminology. It really can be daunting, even a deterrent, to the newcomer. Technical questions are often answered with more technical terms which causes more frustration. It seems there’s not much out there to help the person who’s interested in radio but has zero radio background. Hence why this page exists.

In closing, throughout your journey in this multifaceted lifelong hobby you will run into people in all walks of life. Some will be the nicest folks in the world, some will leave you wondering why you even got into the hobby. Take it from someone that’s been a radio hobbyist for over 30 years, don’t be afraid to tell some crochety self appointeted radio cop to stuff it! Just because you are new, does’nt mean you must put up with belittlement!

For those who believe they have the power to decide how someone expresses themselves on Amateur Radio, I invite you to educate yourself on this landmark case.
